Relocation Consultants?

What are they & what do they normally do - and what do they charge for this?

The main services normally provided by relocation consultants is finding accommodation to rent or buy and arranging viewing along with giving advice on facilities, schools and areas to fit in with the clients lifestyle

For just this service you could pay up to 200 euros per day! Or maybe a set package depending on the service you require and who is providing it! Some also charge for you to register with them in the first place.

The service could include any advice to do with your relocation that you may need help with. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS ASK ... There may be things I can’t do myself, but I can certainly point you in the right direction for these things.

If you start to add the costs daily for help in certain things such as obtaining NIE numbers, applying for the new certificates of registration, help and guidance on how to obtain your medical cards, advising on the paperwork you need to get these processes carried out in the correct manner -

I work much the same way as the relocation companies except for one important factor - my fee is already included in the price of the house and you only pay the price agreed for the house at the point of sale if you buy it through me and, if I am your first point of contact with the vendor or other agent. 

It will not cost you any more than it would have than if you had bought it directly through an estate agent! In fact, in the majority of cases it will most definitely cost you much less. unsure, then please just ask...

How can I do this with any property you see advertised?

Provided that the client - you - gives me the correct information and a little time I can with your cooperation locate only the right properties to view, and, in turn this will cut down on your valuable time here by only having to look at suitable properties! Just email me and I will send you a questionnaire and from this and a few chats or emails (and in some cases research visits), I can normally establish pretty much exactly what you are looking for...

I do this now because of our own experiences when we moved here and quite simply because I believe that you need this service when you buy here. It is quite daunting moving to another country with another language and you do need all the help you can get to get you started... I will give you an honest and reliable service, it is by no means easy and dependant upon your own personal situation I will tell you how it really is living here "warts and all" and will help and guide you through the process.

So... why do you need more than just an agent? 

Many agents do not really have to do anything other than just show you the property, many will not have the time or be prepared to give you the time that you deserve and need and many will only get you through the sale, and that will be it.  You can feel pretty helpless at times when you are new here and it’s reassuring knowing you have someone to just ask! guide and be there for you giving you confidence and advice.

Trying to find out where you go to do just the simple things like paying your council taxes, getting your phone changed over if you have one, (helping you with information where to get one if you don't) and how you get registered on the padron etc, the fact you need this for a number of transactions from buying a car to registering your children into school, and with the ever changing laws advising on the correct forms you have to fill in etc...

I guarantee you will get more of a personal service if you let me help you - I actually do what I promise! I have a list of clients both past and current should anyone wish to get some feedback or just have a look on the forum where many have actually posted their experiences... most of my clients come through recommendations so why not just ask them here

If I can’t help with a problem or an emergency myself, (I am not infallible) I will endeavor to point you in the direction of someone who can! One of the things I can’t do is to translate,  my level of Spanish is not quite up to that, especially for medical situations and more complicated things but I have a few contacts who you can call on who can and should you need the doctors or dentist before you have a command of the language yourself, then I have the numbers at hand. These people are fluent and experienced and charge very reasonable rates. In fact I have whole lists of useful numbers for every situation you can think of all whom have been either used by us or our friends.

Also included in this service, should you require it before you arrive, is:

  • For me to help arrange your accommodation for the duration of your stay or for the time you choose to be in rental property should you feel the need to rent before you buy. This is often a good idea if you are unsure, whether it be long let, short-term let, villa apartment or even a mobile home.
  • I will liaise with you via email (or phone if you prefer) to find out all your specific requirements so that I can not only find the right property in the right area too but with the right facilities for you and your family. Everyone is different and I will listen to YOU and what YOU really want.
  • I can point you in the right direction to arrange transport if you require this - it is advisable in most cases as you may want to and should explore the areas at your own leisure. 
  • With your co-operation I will help you obtain your NIE numbers at no extra cost to you (It is now compulsory to have these to purchase a property or car in Spain and you do have to be there on application now, unless someone has the power of attorney from you such as your solicitor).
  • I can introduce you to English speaking banks so you can open Spanish bank accounts in a language you can understand we together will shop around for the best deal. I do not collaborate with the banks for a fee as I feel this is not getting you the best deal so I choose not to so I am totally unbiased!
  • I can introduce you to a foreign currency company to assist you to obtain a better transfer rate for your money and give you tips on how to work these to your best advantage so you are not held to ransom with time limits etc,

I do not claim to have the answer for everything but, I normally know someone who has! I can arrange for a fully qualified independent solicitor who speaks excellent English and knows the area and the current rules and regulations. If there are problems with a particular property that causes the sale to fail for whatever reason we will together find you a different property whether it be directly with the vendor or through a different agent. Remember I will be here living close by you hopefully for a long time to come and so would never knowingly advise you to buy a property with any kind of problem that I know about and you didn’t know about, its not in my interest! We live here in the community our children and our life are here!

What better guarantee could you ask for good & reliable service?

In return for this...

All I ask of you... is that if you see another property whilst I am helping you that is of interest to you, you just let me make all the enquiries on your behalf, so that I am the first point of contact you will not pay any more than the advertised price. Hopefully in most cases less - sometimes a lot less!

In the unlikely event that you do not purchase through me, dependant upon the work I have put in I may then have to charge a fee, at least to cover my costs for obtaining NIE´s etc. However, this is unlikely because of the way I work. Obviously any clients who wish to just view properties that feel they do not need this package and they just want to purely view and purchase a property, this can happen sometimes with clients moving within Spain, then I would just show them the properties of their choice taking into account with my fee that they do not want the full service.

Basically our own experience with moving caused Live Spain for Life to be born.......... I am proud to say we are now in our 3rd year and growing in name and reputation
