Residentes Europeos in Spain

The Alicante Provincial Council is well aware of the many obstacles facing any citizen when changing place of residence, especially when this involves changing country too. For this reason it has always worked in the interests of both national and foreign residents´ integration in our province.

Which is why, Jose Joaquín Ripoll, the president has created a Department dedicated to European residents living in the province of Alicante in 2003. The work carried out in the European Resident’s Department has proved to be extremely useful for this group of people and the numerous integrationist activities and information campaigns have been well received.

This website has lots of useful information about activities and publications Thers is also have the “European Resident’s Resource and Information Guide” that contains practical details on more than 14 different topics , like Social Security in Spain, taxes, wills and the local census, etc, which can be requested free of charge. The site and its contents have recently had a major overhaul so look here for up to date info

Once you are here to live you may need help with a number of things

Falling sick, being a victim of crime or facing an emergency are traumatic events under any circumstances. When these problems happen abroad, they can be even more difficult and frightening. So, there is no more important task for the British Consulates network of offices in Spain than to help British Nationals in distress. The British Consulates are constantly trying to improve the support which they provide, and to adapt it to changing circumstances and new challenges.
